Pearl is an internal-use tool that helps us evaluate the most promising internship candidates—the “pearls,” so to speak. A profile is generated for each applicant and feedback from internal reviewers is captured in a running timeline. This provides a comprehensive record of each applicant. The internship coordinator can reorder candidates based on strength, helping reviewers focus on the most promising prospects.

Under the hood, a client-side React application controls the view layer and communicates via JSON with a Ruby on Rails backend.
